SARA LOVARI

Sara Lovari was born in 1979 in Avena di Poppi (province of Arezzo). After earning a degree in economics, she moved to England and debuted as an artist in 2007. Since then, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad. Her works are distinguished by warm colors inspired by the earth and nature, and by polymaterial applications on ancient and precious supports such as 19th-century books and maps, giving life to a highly appreciated pittosculpture and assemblage.

Sara lives and works in the province of Arezzo. In 2021, she created 4 works with recycled materials and Kartos decorative paper that inspired the Words For Earth collection. Four powerful words known and spoken worldwide: LOVE, TIME, RESPECT, and LIFE that become protagonists on desks with coordinated notebooks, journals, to-do lists, and washable paper shoppers and pochettes.

For this new collection, Sara was inspired by 4 women who stood out for something special and contributed to changing the female figure in history.

Luisa
A visionary entrepreneur who went from a chocolate company to high fashion, thanks also to the support of her husband and then her son, who continued her dream.

Isabella
A model, actress, and screenwriter who also distinguished herself for her activism and social sensitivity.

Dorothy
A reporter who pretended to be a soldier to be able to report the war with the help of 10 soldiers.

Amelia
An aviator known as the Queen of the Air, she was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and later attempted to circumnavigate the globe with a colleague.

These women, thanks to their courage, did not stop even in front of great pain and disappointment, always finding the strength and determination to pursue their dreams. Supported and encouraged towards a wonderful future by companions met along their journey. From the works created by Sara Lovari through the collage technique (colored papers, objects, ancient books, musical scores…), Kartos brings the QUEEN collection to life, producing stationery items such as notebooks, journals, pencils, and washable paper products like clutch bags, shoppers, and the brand-new cover book.

Women Dressed by Kartos: a unique project in collaboration with Sara Lovari, an initiative that celebrates the strength, beauty, diversity, and courage of women. Every woman is a queen in her own way: choose the image that represents you the most and make it yours. With your purchase, you support the associations Pronto Donna, Nosotras, Non ti Scordar di Te, and Frida, which fight for women’s rights and gender equality.

A CONCRETE ACT OF SOLIDARITY

An important message: purchasing these products is a way to take a stand against gender discrimination and support the cause of female empowerment. Additionally, from June 30th to October 31st, 2024, 10% of the proceeds from the sales of this collection will be donated to 4 associations that operate locally to support women: Frida, Nosotras, Non ti Scordar di Te, and Pronto Donna
